• Why use Codealike?

  Because it will help you visualize your coding performance inside the IDE as well as your web browsing and debugging behavior and thus enhance your productivity. You can also use Codealike to demonstrate your technology expertise.

• Does Codealike analyze team work?

  Yes. You can define and invite coding mates, and then compare your statistics with theirs and improve how your team works.

• Does Codealike rank my performance?

  Yes. There is a ranking feature which compares the user’s performance with that of the Codealike community over a certain period of time.

• How is the ranking defined?

  It is defined by a model that basically takes into account your concentration level during a work day. In other words, more activity time and less interruptions during the week, will result in a better ranking position.

• What version of Visual Studio do I need?

  You can use Codealike with Visual Studio 2010, Visual Studio 2012, Visual Studio 2013, Professional Edition or higher. Remember to have Service Pack I for Visual Studio 2010, Visual Studio 2012 or Visual Studio 2013 installed.

• Does Codealike affect the performance of your IDE?

  We consider performance issues very seriously, if you experience difficulties, please let us know to fix them.

• Can I use the service if I don't have Internet access?

  Yes and no :-) Codealike will work offline, but an Internet connection is eventually needed so that your IDE and browser can automatically send out data for analysis. In order to host corporate servers, please mail us

• Do I need to create an account in order to use the service?

  Yes. You can create a Codealike account, or access it through any of the authentication providers we support like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or Github on the public and private cloud. For on-premise authentication, we support Windows authentication. Please contact us for further details.

• Will you have access to my source code?

  No. We guarantee that your source code files are not uploaded to our servers. Our servers only host information regarding your account, your email, and statistical data from your source code. For further information, please refer to our Terms of service.

• What are the list of requirements to use the service?

  You need Windows Vista or higher with Visual Studio 2010, Visual Studio 2012 or Visual Studio 2013 Professional Edition or higher with the latest service pack updates in order to install the application. For Eclipse you need Juno 4.2 or higher. You will also have to sign up for our service.
